About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Telecoms Network Security Specialist to enhance the security posture of their network infrastructure in Reading . This role is vital for protecting our client's assets and customer data from evolving cyber threats. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing robust security solutions, conducting vulnerability assessments, and responding to security incidents. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain network security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and access controls.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing of the network infrastructure.
• Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures across the organization.
• Monitor security alerts and respond effectively to security incidents and breaches.
• Stay current with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques.
• Provide expert advice on security best practices and collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure network configurations.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in network security , with a focus on telecommunications networks.
• In-depth knowledge of security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and SIEM solutions.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, encryption, and authentication mechanisms.
• Experience with vulnerability assessment tools and methodologies.
• Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or GIAC are highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
