About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Telecoms Network Specialist to join their distributed engineering team, supporting operations remotely from Wolverhampton . This role is critical for maintaining and enhancing the integrity, performance, and security of complex telecommunications networks. You will take the lead on intricate network challenges, contributing to architectural decisions and driving improvements through automation and best practices. Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert-level support and troubleshooting for complex telecoms network infrastructure issues.
• Design, implement, and manage network upgrades, expansions, and migrations.
• Develop and deploy network automation scripts and tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Conduct in-depth performance analysis and capacity planning for network services.
• Define and enforce network security policies and procedures to protect sensitive data and systems.
• Mentor junior network engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in telecoms network engineering and operations.
• In-depth knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), switching technologies, and WAN/MAN connectivity.
• Expertise in network security principles, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Proficiency in network monitoring, analysis, and troubleshooting tools.
• Strong experience with network automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ansible).
• Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent are highly advantageous.
