About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Telecoms Security Specialist to bolster their defences and ensure the integrity of their network infrastructure in Edinburgh . This crucial role involves protecting telecommunications systems from cyber threats, developing robust security policies, and implementing cutting-edge security solutions. You will be at the forefront of safeguarding sensitive data and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Working from our Edinburgh office, you will collaborate with engineering and operations teams to integrate security best practices into every aspect of network design and operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies for telecommunications networks.
• Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing.
• Investigate and respond to security incidents, providing detailed post-incident analysis.
• Design and manage firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs.
• Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, NIS Directive).
• Provide security awareness training to staff and contribute to security policy development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience in information security, with a specific focus on telecommunications networks.
• Expertise in network security principles, protocols, and tools.
• Experience with security frameworks and compliance requirements within the telecom sector.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CCSP are highly desirable.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage complex security challenges.
