About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Telecoms Security Specialist to join their fully remote team, dedicated to safeguarding their telecommunications infrastructure across the UK . In this critical role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing robust security strategies and solutions to protect against evolving cyber threats. You will work with cutting-edge security technologies and collaborate with various technical teams to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of network data and systems. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security measures for telecommunications networks, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and encryption technologies.
• Conduct regular security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability analysis to identify and mitigate risks.
• Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards across the organization's telecom infrastructure.
• Respond to and investigate security incidents, breaches, and anomalies, coordinating remediation efforts.
• Provide expert guidance on security best practices and emerging threats to technical teams and stakeholders.
• Stay current with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies relevant to the telecoms industry .

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a strong focus on telecommunications networks.
• In-depth knowledge of network security principles, protocols, and best practices (e.g., TCP/IP, TLS, IPsec).
• Hands-on experience with security tools such as SIEM, vulnerability scanners, and endpoint protection platforms.
• Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, CEH) are highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, suitable for a remote working environment .
