Job Description
Senior Town Planner | Permanent | Hybrid (2 days in the office) I'm currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity for a Senior Town Planner to join an established and growing planning consultancy on a permanent basis.
If you're an ambitious Senior Town Planner looking for your next move, this could be a great opportunity to join a consultancy working across a genuinely varied portfolio of development projects, with the autonomy to take ownership of your work and build strong client relationships.
As a Senior Town Planner, you'll work across a diverse range of planning projects, providing strategic and practical planning advice to clients and managing projects through the planning process.
You'll have the opportunity to:
- Manage planning applications from initial instruction through to determination.
- Prepare planning statements, reports and supporting documentation.
- Provide planning advice, development appraisals and site assessments.
- Undertake planning policy research and assess development opportunities.
- Liaise with Local Planning Authorities, clients and external consultants.
- Attend pre-application meetings, site visits and planning committees.
- Negotiate with planning officers to help secure positive outcomes.
- Manage your own workload and take ownership of projects.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
We're looking for a Senior Town Planner with a minimum of 3 years' relevant planning experience who is ready to take on responsibility and continue developing their career within a consultancy environment. You'll ideally have:
- A degree in Town Planning or a related RTPI accredited discipline.
- 3+ years' relevant planning experience.
- Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and planning policy.
- Experience managing planning applications and providing planning advice.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The confidence to manage projects and communicate with a range of stakeholders.
- RTPI membership or a willingness to work towards chartership would be advantageous.
This is a great opportunity for a Senior Town Planner who wants more than just a standard planning role. You'll be joining a consultancy with a varied project portfolio covering areas such as residential, commercial, rural, leisure and other development sectors. This means plenty of opportunity to broaden your experience, take ownership and make a real impact.
The role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with a requirement to be in the office 2 days per week, giving you a good balance between collaboration and flexibility.
If you're a Senior Town Planner with 3+ years' experience and are considering your next career move, I'd love to hear from you.
