About the Role
Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Urban Designer to join their thriving practice in Norwich . This role is central to shaping the future built environment, focusing on creating sustainable, inclusive, and vibrant communities. You will lead design processes for master planning projects, engaging with stakeholders, and translating complex ideas into compelling visual and strategic frameworks. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of urban master plans and strategic design frameworks.
- Conduct site analysis, context studies, and feasibility assessments for new development proposals.
- Engage effectively with clients, local authorities, community groups, and other stakeholders throughout the design process.
- Prepare high-quality design proposals, including master plans, design codes, and visualisations.
- Collaborate with architects, landscape architects, engineers, and other consultants to ensure integrated design solutions.
- Contribute to policy development and provide design guidance for planning applications.
Requirements
- A degree in Urban Design, Architecture, Town Planning, or a related field, with significant post-qualification experience (5+ years).
- Proven experience in leading urban design projects and master planning from concept to implementation.
- Strong understanding of urban design principles, sustainability, placemaking, and public realm strategies.
- Proficiency in relevant design software, including AutoCAD, SketchUp , Adobe Creative Suite, and preferably GIS.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- A portfolio demonstrating successful urban design projects and strategic thinking.
