Senior UX/UI Designer - Gaming

About the Role

Our client, a leading game development studio based in Sunderland , is looking for a talented Senior UX/UI Designer to enhance the player experience across their portfolio of innovative games. You will be instrumental in designing intuitive and engaging user interfaces and user experiences, ensuring seamless navigation and immersion for players worldwide. This hybrid role requires on-site collaboration with development teams in Sunderland a few days a week, with the flexibility of remote work for the remainder. You will work closely with game designers, artists, and engineers to translate complex game mechanics into user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Design intuitive, engaging, and visually appealing user interfaces (UI) and user experiences (UX) for video games.
• Develop wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and high-fidelity mockups to communicate design ideas.
• Conduct user research, usability testing, and analyze player feedback to inform design decisions.
• Collaborate closely with game designers, artists, and programmers throughout the development lifecycle.
• Ensure consistency in design language and user experience across all game titles and platforms.
• Champion user-centered design principles within the development team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in UX/UI design , with a significant portion focused on games or interactive applications.
• Strong portfolio showcasing exceptional UI/UX design work, particularly in the gaming industry.
• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
• Understanding of game design principles, player psychology, and interaction design.
• Experience with user research methodologies and usability testing.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid team environment, collaborating both in-person in Sunderland and remotely.
