About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented and innovative Senior VFX Artist to join their distributed team, bringing dynamic visual effects to life for their cutting-edge projects. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and implementing spectacular visual effects that enhance gameplay and storytelling, working remotely with a talented group of artists and developers. This role demands creativity, technical proficiency, and a passion for creating visually stunning and performance-optimized effects. You will play a key role in defining the visual spectacle of our entertainment offerings, contributing to a visually rich and immersive experience for players worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and create a wide range of high-quality visual effects, including explosions, magic, environmental effects, and UI feedback.
- Implement VFX assets into the game engine, ensuring they are performant and visually compelling.
- Collaborate with art directors, game designers, and engineers to define and achieve the desired visual style and impact.
- Optimize VFX for performance across various platforms while maintaining visual fidelity.
- Develop and maintain VFX pipelines, tools, and workflows to improve efficiency and quality.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in visual effects and real-time rendering.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a VFX Artist in the video game industry, with a strong portfolio showcasing stunning real-time effects.
- Proficiency in particle editing tools (e.g., Niagara, EmberGen, PopcornFX) and 3D software (e.g., Maya, Blender).
- Strong understanding of shader development and material creation for VFX.
- Experience with integrating VFX into game engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity.
- Excellent artistic eye for timing, color, and composition in visual effects.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote, collaborative team environment.
