Senior VFX Artist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior VFX Artist to join their expanding creative team in Birmingham . You will be responsible for creating stunning visual effects that enhance the narrative and visual appeal of their diverse entertainment projects. Working within a collaborative studio environment, you will bring your artistic vision and technical expertise to bear on everything from particle systems to complex simulations, contributing significantly to the final aesthetic. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize visual effects (VFX) for games, film, or television, including particle systems, shaders, and simulations.
• Collaborate with art directors and technical directors to define the visual style and technical requirements for VFX assets.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to VFX implementation and performance optimization.
• Mentor junior VFX artists, providing guidance on artistic techniques and technical workflows.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in VFX creation and real-time rendering.
• Contribute to the development of VFX tools and pipelines to improve efficiency and quality.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in VFX art for interactive or linear media.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Houdini, Maya, Unreal Engine, or Unity.
• Strong understanding of particle systems , fluid dynamics, and rendering techniques.
• Experience with shader development and scripting languages is a plus.
• Excellent artistic eye and a passion for creating visually compelling effects.
