About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Senior VFX Artist to join their innovative team in Portsmouth . You will be responsible for creating spectacular visual effects that enhance the impact and immersion of projects within the Arts & Entertainment industry. This role involves designing and implementing a wide range of dynamic effects, from magical spells and explosions to environmental phenomena, ensuring they are both artistically stunning and technically optimized. You will collaborate closely with other departments to integrate VFX seamlessly into the final product.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, create, and implement high-quality visual effects (VFX) for games, films, or animations using industry-standard tools.
• Collaborate with art directors and technical directors to define the visual style and technical requirements for VFX.
• Optimize VFX assets for performance, ensuring smooth frame rates and efficient resource utilization.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest VFX technologies and techniques, experimenting with new approaches to enhance visual quality.
• Mentor junior VFX artists and provide constructive feedback to ensure consistent quality and artistic integrity across the team.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a VFX Artist with a strong portfolio demonstrating a range of dynamic and visually impressive effects.
• Proficiency in VFX creation software such as Unreal Engine Niagara, Unity VFX Graph, Houdini, or After Effects.
• Solid understanding of particle systems, shaders, simulation, and real-time rendering techniques.
• Ability to interpret art direction and translate creative concepts into functional VFX.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment.
