Senior VFX Artist

About the Role

Our client, a celebrated independent game studio, is looking for a highly skilled Senior VFX Artist to join their passionate and creatively driven team, operating entirely remotely. This role is critical in defining the visual spectacle of our games, creating breathtaking visual effects that enhance gameplay and immersion. You will work on cutting-edge projects, collaborating with a diverse team of artists and developers to bring dynamic and exciting visual elements to life. Key Responsibilities

• Design, create, and implement high-quality visual effects (VFX) for in-game elements, including spells, explosions, environmental effects, and UI animations.
• Optimize VFX assets for performance across various platforms while maintaining artistic integrity and visual impact.
• Collaborate with art directors and technical artists to define and maintain the visual style and technical standards for all VFX.
• Utilize VFX creation tools and game engine capabilities (e.g., Niagara, Shader Graph) to achieve desired visual outcomes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve VFX-related technical issues, ensuring smooth integration into the game.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience creating VFX for games , with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise.
• Proficiency in industry-standard VFX software (e.g., Houdini, Maya, After Effects) and game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine , Unity).
• Strong understanding of particle systems, shaders, lighting, and animation principles for VFX.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
• Excellent artistic eye and a passion for creating visually impactful effects.
