Senior VFX Supervisor - Animation Studio

About the Role

Our client, a highly regarded animation studio in Norwich , is seeking an experienced Senior VFX Supervisor to lead the creation of stunning visual effects for their animated features and series. This pivotal role involves overseeing the entire VFX pipeline, from concept to final compositing, ensuring artistic quality, technical execution, and timely delivery. You will collaborate closely with directors, art directors, and the VFX team to realize the artistic vision for complex visual sequences. This hybrid position allows for both remote creative input and essential on-site presence at our Norwich studios to manage team workflows and technical aspects effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and guide the VFX team throughout the production pipeline, from pre-visualization to final delivery.
• Collaborate with directors and art directors to develop and implement the visual style and technical requirements for VFX shots.
• Ensure the technical feasibility and artistic quality of all visual effects.
• Manage VFX shot assignments, deadlines, and resource allocation.
• Review and provide constructive feedback on VFX work, ensuring it meets the highest standards.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and techniques in VFX and animation.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and propose innovative solutions to complex VFX challenges.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in VFX production, with a significant portion in a supervisory or lead role for animation.
• Demonstrated expertise in various VFX disciplines, including simulation, compositing, and rendering.
• Proficiency with industry-standard VFX software such as Houdini, Maya, Nuke, and Arnold.
• Strong understanding of rendering pipelines and optimization techniques.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in a hybrid team environment, with the ability to collaborate effectively both remotely and on-site in Norwich .
