Salary: £30,000-£36,000 per annum, depending on experience
Location: Rochester, Kent
Job type: Permanent, full-time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 5:00am-2:00pm
Essential requirement: Proven counterbalance forklift experience

The Role
We are seeking a dependable and capable Senior Warehouse Operative to join our team in Rochester.
You may already be working in a supervisory position or be a strong warehouse team member who is ready to take the next step. We are keen to speak with applicants who know how a busy warehouse operates, have the right attitude and credentials, and can confidently guide and support others.
This is a hands-on position combining responsibility for coordinating the warehouse in the day-to-day operation. The successful candidate will help ensure that all warehouse activities are completed safely, accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor productivity, order accuracy and operational standards while identifying opportunities to improve warehouse processes.
- Operate a counterbalance forklift safely and competently when required.
- Pick, pack and palletise customer orders accurately, loading goods securely into vans for delivery.
- Check incoming deliveries carefully against the relevant paperwork.
- Carry out stock rotation and stocktaking to support accurate inventory control.
- Undertake all manual-handling duties safely and follow company health and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe and well-organised warehouse environment.
About You
- A solid background working in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Proven ability to operate a counterbalance forklift safely and competently - this is essential.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A practical, hands-on approach and the ability to carry out the manual-handling requirements of the role safely.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in a busy environment.
- A reliable and punctual approach, with the ability to work the stated early-shift hours.
- The right to work in the UK.
