Service Engineer - Installation & Repair

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and reliable Service Engineer to manage installation and repair services for their equipment in the Sheffield region. This role demands a practical, hands-on approach to ensure that customer systems are installed correctly and maintained efficiently. You will be responsible for diagnosing faults, performing repairs, and conducting preventative maintenance to minimize equipment downtime. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, possesses excellent technical troubleshooting abilities, and is committed to providing outstanding service to clients across the area. This is a field-based role requiring travel to various customer locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform professional installation and setup of company equipment at client sites.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and basic software issues.
• Respond promptly to service calls and resolve technical problems efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of all service activities, parts used, and client interactions.
• Liaise with customers to provide technical support and advice on equipment operation.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Service Engineer, Field Technician, or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and diagnostic techniques.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tasks.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Must possess a valid UK driving license and be able to travel within the Sheffield area.
