We are recruiting 2 experienced Setting Out Engineers for a major civil engineering scheme based near Leiston, Suffolk.

Candidates must have a strong civil engineering background , with previous experience setting out earthworks and associated heavy civils . Applicants coming solely from building or residential projects without substantial civils experience will not be suitable.

Duties

• Setting out earthworks, drainage, roads and associated civils
• Using GPS and robotic total station equipment
• Establishing levels, coordinates and profiles
• Producing and checking as-built surveys
• Checking works against engineering drawings and specifications
• Maintaining accurate engineering records
• Assisting with QA documentation
• Resolving technical and setting-out issues
• Working closely with supervisors and site management

Requirements

• Proven Setting Out Engineer experience within civil engineering
• Strong experience working on earthworks packages
• Previous highways, infrastructure or heavy civils experience
• Confident using GPS and robotic total stations
• Experience with Leica, Trimble or similar equipment
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings
• Relevant engineering qualification
