Sewing Machinist
Location: Southend-on-Sea Salary: Up to £31,000 DOE
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sewing Machinist to join a global leader in aerospace component manufacturing. Working within a specialist production environment, you will be responsible for overlocking and sewing pre-cut materials into high-quality finished covers used within the aerospace industry.
This role would suit candidates with previous industrial machining experience who take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.

Sew pre-cut components using drawings, templates, work instructions and samples Overlock cut parts in line with specifications and training provided Carry out rework and repairs where required Maintain sewing machines and overlockers, ensuring equipment is clean, oiled and operating correctly Report machine faults to the Team Leader Follow manufacturing procedures to maintain quality and traceability standards Support other production activities as requiredSkills & Experience Required
Previous experience operating an industrial machine is essential Overlocking experience is desirable Good understanding of product assembly techniques Ability to follow technical drawings, instructions and templates Basic English communication skills and GCSE-level education (or equivalent)Ideal Background
