Salary: £15.00p to £16.00p / hour (Negotiable)

Equivalent £31.3k to £33.4k / annum + bonuses

Hours: 40 / week

The role

The role is for an experienced sheet metal fabricator to work in a busy fabrication shop to produce both standard and bespoke equipment used in the quality control / NDT sector.

This will encompass all aspects of fabrication, including: MIG and TIG welding (typically 1.5 to 10mm thick material), marking out, drilling and tapping to close tolerances, and operating associated fabrication equipment.

Employment would start on 6 month fixed term contract with a permanent contract offered to the right candidates on completion of that 6 month period.

Experience required (Essential):

MIG & TIG welding of stainless steel and mild steel

Work with stainless steel to a high-quality finish

Ability to read engineering drawings

Experience of operating guillotines and bending machines

Basic math and problem solving skills

Marking out, drilling and tapping to close tolerances

The person:

Effective communication and organisational skills.

A team player with the ability to work independently and able to work to tight deadlines under pressure, whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Must have the right to work in the UK and a clean criminal background.

Starting pay is £15.00p to £16.00p / hour and attracts two 1% bonuses in April and September and a discretionary bonus in November after 12 months.

The role is contracted for 40 hours a week with 12:30pm finish on Friday.

Working Hours – Mon to Thurs (7.30am to 5.00pm), Fri (8.30am to 5.00pm)
