SHEQ Coordinator Location: Ashford Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 DOE Contract: Permanent Hours: 39 hours per week Monday - Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pm Friday: 8:00am - 4:00pm
About the Role
Our Client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented SHEQ Coordinator to support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of their Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) Management Systems. This is a hands-on role that will see you working closely with managers, employees, contractors, and external bodies to ensure compliance with legislation, internal policies, and ISO standards. You will play a key role in promoting a positive safety culture, improving quality performance, and supporting the organisation's ongoing commitment to operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments across multiple departments.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, recommending corrective and preventative actions.
- Support the maintenance and continual improvement of ISO management systems.
- Assist with internal and external audits and ensure audit readiness across the business.
- Review and update policies, procedures, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
- Manage document control processes and maintain accurate SHEQ records.
- Deliver health and safety inductions and support employee awareness programmes.
- Maintain training matrices and coordinate mandatory and refresher training.
- Support environmental initiatives and sustainability objectives.
- Organise and facilitate Health & Safety and Quality meetings.
- Provide SHEQ support and cover during periods of management absence.
About You
- Previous experience within a SHEQ, Health & Safety, Quality, Compliance, or related role.
- Experience conducting audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation and management systems.
- NEBOSH General Certificate, IOSH Managing Safely, or equivalent qualification.
- Internal Auditor qualification or proven audit experience.
- Strong communication, organisational, and report-writing skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
