We are recruiting for an experienced Shift Assistant Estate Manager to lead a multidisciplinary engineering team within a busy healthcare environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical or Mechanical Manager/Supervisor looking to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of a team, maintenance delivery, PPMs, reactive works, SLAs and operational escalations.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

• 👥 Directly manage a team of 7 across Electrical, Mechanical and Fabric disciplines.
• 📋 Manage the team's day-to-day workload, including PPM, corrective and reactive maintenance.
• ⏱️ Ensure maintenance activities are completed within agreed SLAs.
• 🚨 Manage and respond to escalations and operational issues.
• 🛠️ Provide technical support and assistance where required.
• 📅 Manage sickness, annual leave and rota cover effectively.
• 🤝 Work collaboratively with other Assistant Estate Managers to provide a consistent service.
• 👨‍🏫 Deliver toolbox talks, training and technical guidance to team members.
• 📊 Monitor team performance, utilisation and productivity.
• 📝 Conduct staff meetings, performance reviews and appraisals.
• 🛡️ Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely and in accordance with statutory and company requirements.
• ⚡ Assist with the operation, repair and maintenance of mechanical and electrical engineering services.
• 🏢 Support the delivery of Hard FM and lifecycle maintenance services across the estate.

👨‍🔧 Requirements

Electrical candidates:

• ⚡ Fully qualified Electrical Engineer.
• 🎓 Relevant electrical installation qualification/apprenticeship.
• 🔐 AM2 – essential.
• 📘 18th Edition – essential.
• 👥 Previous management or supervisory experience.

Mechanical candidates:

• ⚙️ City & Guilds Mechanical Engineering Level 2 & 3, or
• 🔧 City & Guilds Pipefitting & Plumbing Level 2 & 3, or
• 🚿 City & Guilds Plumbing Level 2 & 3.
• 🎓 Other relevant City & Guilds Mechanical qualifications will be considered.
• 👥 Previous management or supervisory experience.

All candidates:

• 🏢 Experience within maintenance, facilities management, engineering or a similar environment.
• 📋 Strong understanding of planned and reactive maintenance.
• 👥 Proven ability to lead and manage a multidisciplinary team.
• 📊 Strong workload management and organisational skills.
• 🚨 Confident dealing with escalations and operational issues.
• 🗣️ Strong communication and people-management skills.
• 🛡️ Good understanding of safe working practices and statutory compliance.
• 🔐 Must be able to successfully pass a DBS Standard check.
