Shift Engineer – Bishopsgate

Location: Bishopsgate, Central London Shift Pattern: Continental Days & Nights Salary: £53,000 - £55,000 Job Type: Permanent

Alice Rose Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer to join the engineering team within a landmark, prestigious commercial building in Bishopsgate.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to develop their technical ability while working within a modern, high-spec commercial environment.

The building is maintained to an exceptionally high engineering standard, with a strong focus on technical procedures, compliance, resilience and customer service.

There is also a clear progression opportunity for the successful engineer to develop towards a Senior Shift Engineer position.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance across building services plant

*

Attend reactive maintenance tasks and engineering faults

*

Carry out electrical and mechanical fault finding

*

Monitor plant and building systems

*

Respond to alarms and operational issues

*

Complete PPM records, logbooks and technical documentation

*

Assist with contractor management and specialist engineering works

*

Ensure all maintenance activities comply with site procedures

*

Support senior engineers during technical incidents

*

Maintain excellent health and safety standards

*

Communicate professionally with clients and building occupants

*

Support the wider engineering team across the shift

Requirements

*

Electrical, mechanical or building services engineering background

*

Level 3 engineering qualification preferred

*

Experience working within commercial building maintenance

*

Strong understanding of PPM and reactive maintenance

*

Good electrical and mechanical fault-finding ability

*

Experience with HVAC and building services plant

*

HV or LV experience would be advantageous but is not essential

*

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

*

Comfortable working within a process-driven environment

*

Ambitious and interested in further technical development

*

Able to work a continental shift pattern covering days and nights

This position has been designed as a genuine development opportunity.

The successful engineer will gain exposure to a technically demanding environment and have the opportunity to develop their knowledge of HV/LV systems, switching procedures and wider engineering responsibilities, with the longer-term aim of progressing into a Senior Shift Engineer position.
