About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Administrator to manage the administrative aspects of outbound shipments from their facility in Plymouth . You will be responsible for preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring all shipments are processed accurately and on time. This role requires strong organisational skills and the ability to maintain effective communication with both internal teams and external logistics partners. You will be a vital link in the supply chain, ensuring smooth and efficient dispatch of goods.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process all shipping documentation, including bills of lading and customs declarations.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders and carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Track shipments and provide timely updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Verify shipment details against orders to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain organised records of all shipping activities and associated documentation.
- Address and resolve any shipping-related issues or discrepancies.
Requirements
- Previous experience in an administrative role, preferably within shipping or logistics .
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Familiarity with shipping software or systems is an advantage.
