LGV Shunter Driver – Runcorn
Location: Runcorn
Employment Type: Temp to Perm
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off
Shifts: Days & Nights
Salary – Days: £37,918.30 per annum
Salary – Nights: £37,918.35 + £3,060.40 night shift premium
Licence Required: LGV Driver’s Licence – Class 1
About the RoleWe are currently recruiting for experienced LGV Shunter Drivers to join a busy logistics operation in Runcorn on a temp-to-perm basis.
You will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers around the site, ensuring vehicles are positioned correctly and operational requirements are met. This is a key role within the yard operation, working closely with the warehouse and transport teams.
Key Responsibilities
Safely shunt trailers and vehicles around the site.
Position trailers correctly at designated bays and loading areas.
Carry out vehicle and trailer checks in line with company procedures.
Ensure all trailer movements are completed safely and efficiently.
Follow all site health & safety procedures and yard rules.
Communicate effectively with warehouse, transport and yard teams.
Report any vehicle, trailer or equipment defects immediately.
Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation.
Assist with general yard duties as required.
Maintain a high standard of safety and professionalism at all times.
Requirements
Essential:
Valid LGV Driver’s Licence – Class 1.
Previous experience as a shunter or LGV/HGV driver.
Good understanding of yard and vehicle safety.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable, punctual and safety-focused.
Comfortable working a rotating 4 on / 4 off day and night shift pattern
