Site Civil Engineer - Construction Management

About the Role

Our client requires a proactive Site Civil Engineer to oversee the civil engineering aspects of major construction projects in and around Sunderland . This role is essential for ensuring that all civil works are executed safely, efficiently, and to the required specifications. You will be the primary point of contact for site-based civil engineering activities, liaising with contractors, site teams, and the design office to resolve technical issues and maintain project timelines. This is a hands-on role for an engineer who thrives in a site-based environment and is committed to delivering high-quality construction outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the execution of all civil engineering works on construction sites.
• Ensure adherence to project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
• Conduct site inspections and quality control checks, identifying and rectifying any defects or non-conformances.
• Monitor site progress and report regularly to the project management team.
• Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental procedures on site.
• Manage site resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to ensure efficient project delivery.

Requirements

• Degree or HND/HNC in Civil Engineering or a related construction discipline.
• Significant experience in a site engineering role on construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and site safety regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
