About the Role
Our client is looking for a hands-on and detail-oriented Site Civil Engineer to oversee the on-site execution of civil engineering works in and around Stoke-on-Trent . This role is critical for ensuring that construction projects are completed safely, on time, and to the specified design standards. You will be the primary point of contact on site for civil engineering matters, coordinating with contractors, managing resources, and ensuring quality control. This position offers a rewarding experience for an engineer who thrives in a dynamic construction environment and wants to see projects through from planning to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage all on-site civil engineering activities, including earthworks, drainage, and concrete structures.
- Ensure adherence to project plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
- Conduct quality checks and testing of materials and workmanship.
- Coordinate with site teams, subcontractors, and project managers to resolve site issues promptly.
- Maintain site records, including daily reports, progress updates, and safety inspections.
- Interpret construction drawings and technical specifications for site personnel.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- 2-4 years of experience in site engineering or construction management.
- Practical understanding of construction methods, materials, and site safety procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.
