Site Civil Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive Site Civil Engineer to oversee and manage civil engineering works on construction sites in and around Sunderland . This role requires a practical, hands-on approach to ensure that engineering designs are implemented accurately and safely on the ground. You will be the primary point of contact for on-site technical issues, coordinating with contractors, site teams, and project managers to achieve project milestones. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction processes and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all on-site civil engineering activities, ensuring adherence to design plans and specifications.
• Monitor construction progress, quality of work, and safety compliance on site.
• Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, and site personnel to resolve technical issues promptly.
• Conduct regular site inspections and prepare progress reports, including photographic evidence.
• Ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations and environmental policies.
• Verify material quantities and manage site resources effectively.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience as a Site Engineer or Civil Engineer on construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and sequencing.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
• Valid CSCS card or equivalent certification.
