About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated Site Civil Engineer to oversee and manage the civil engineering aspects of construction projects in the Plymouth area. This hands-on role is critical for ensuring that construction activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with design specifications and quality standards. You will be the primary point of contact for site-based civil engineering activities, liaising with contractors, site teams, and project management. This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer seeking to gain valuable site experience on significant construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage all on-site civil engineering works, including earthworks, foundations, and structures.
- Ensure that construction activities comply with project designs, specifications, and quality plans.
- Implement and monitor site-specific health and safety procedures .
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other site personnel.
- Conduct quality control checks and maintain site records, including daily reports and progress updates.
- Resolve any technical queries or challenges that arise on site promptly and effectively.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant construction management qualification.
- Demonstrable experience as a Site Engineer or Civil Engineer on construction sites.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and sequencing.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations and their application on site.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Good organizational and problem-solving skills, with a proactive attitude.
