Site Engineer - Civil Construction

About the Role

Our client, a busy civil engineering contractor operating in Wolverhampton , requires a proactive Site Engineer to join their construction team. This role is crucial for overseeing the day-to-day execution of civil engineering works on-site, ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the specified quality standards. You will be responsible for setting out, surveying, and managing site activities across various construction projects within the West Midlands . This is a hands-on role perfect for an engineer eager to gain site experience and contribute directly to project success.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accurate setting out and surveying of construction works using surveying equipment.
• Monitor and control site activities, ensuring adherence to drawings, specifications, and programme.
• Implement and monitor health and safety procedures on site.
• Undertake quality control checks and maintain site records.
• Liaise with site management, subcontractors, and clients regarding site progress and issues.
• Manage junior site engineers and labourers as required.

Requirements

• Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Site Engineer on civil construction projects.
• Proficiency in using Total Station, GPS, and other surveying equipment.
• Understanding of construction methods and sequencing.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations on construction sites.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
