Site Engineer - Civil

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and technically adept Site Engineer to join their dynamic construction team in Birmingham . You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of civil engineering projects on-site, focusing on quality control, technical problem-solving, and adherence to design specifications. This role requires a practical, hands-on approach, working closely with site teams to translate engineering plans into reality and maintain high standards of workmanship. Key Responsibilities

• Implement and oversee the execution of engineering plans and designs on the construction site, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications.
• Conduct quality control checks on materials and workmanship, identifying and resolving any deviations or defects promptly.
• Manage setting-out operations using surveying equipment, ensuring accurate placement of structures and components.
• Prepare and submit daily site reports, progress updates, and technical documentation to the project manager.
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel to ensure efficient workflow and resource management.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations on the construction site.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Site Engineer or in a similar role within the construction industry.
• Proficiency in using surveying equipment (e.g., Total Station, GPS) and engineering software.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles , construction methods, and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a practical approach to site challenges.
