About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly organized and proactive Site Engineer with a focus on remote coordination and project oversight, based ideally near Leeds but operating primarily remotely. This role is critical for ensuring project progress and quality standards are met by liaising effectively with on-site teams, consultants, and stakeholders. You will be responsible for technical problem-solving, quality assurance, and managing site documentation, all while maintaining clear and consistent communication through digital channels. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced engineer who excels in a remote-first environment, demonstrating strong initiative and problem-solving capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the technical aspects of construction projects, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
- Provide remote technical support and guidance to site supervisors and construction teams.
- Review and approve shop drawings, method statements, and other technical submissions.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential delays, and propose mitigation strategies.
- Manage site documentation, including daily reports, progress records, and RFI logs.
- Conduct remote site inspections and quality audits as required, coordinating with on-site personnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related construction field.
- Significant experience as a Site Engineer or in a similar construction management role.
- Proficiency with project management software and digital collaboration tools.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and quality control procedures.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, particularly in a remote setting.
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
