Site Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Site Engineer to support their construction projects primarily located around Portsmouth , operating in a remote-first capacity. This role is essential for providing technical engineering support on-site, ensuring that construction work is carried out to the correct specifications, quality standards, and health and safety requirements. You will be responsible for setting out, measuring, and interpreting drawings, contributing to the efficient and safe progress of the project. This position is ideal for an engineer who thrives on problem-solving and technical challenges, with the flexibility to manage responsibilities remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Set out, calibrate, and operate surveying and engineering equipment on site.
• Interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications to ensure accurate execution of works.
• Monitor and record the quality of construction, ensuring it meets project standards.
• Assist with the preparation of daily site reports and progress documentation .
• Identify and resolve technical issues that arise on site, coordinating with the project team.
• Ensure all setting out and measurements are accurate and recorded meticulously for verification.

Requirements

• Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Previous experience as a Site Engineer or in a similar role on construction projects.
• Proficiency in using surveying equipment (e.g., Total Station, GPS) and relevant software.
• Strong understanding of construction processes and techniques.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently.
