About the Role
Our client is seeking a competent and motivated Site Engineer to support their construction projects in the Plymouth area. This role is essential for ensuring that construction work is carried out accurately and efficiently on-site, in line with engineering designs and specifications. You will be responsible for setting out, surveying, and managing the technical aspects of construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of engineering principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively within a construction team to deliver high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake setting out and survey work accurately using appropriate equipment.
- Ensure that construction activities comply with drawings, specifications, and quality standards .
- Supervise and manage direct labor and subcontractors on-site, ensuring work is completed on schedule.
- Check and verify the quality of materials and workmanship.
- Liaise with project managers, site agents, and clients regarding technical issues.
- Maintain site records, including daily reports, measurements, and progress updates.
Requirements
- Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or a related construction discipline.
- Experience as a Site Engineer or in a similar technical role on construction sites.
- Proficiency in using survey equipment and setting out techniques .
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Good understanding of construction methods and health and safety principles.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
