Site Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a competent and motivated Site Engineer to support their construction projects in the Plymouth area. This role is essential for ensuring that construction work is carried out accurately and efficiently on-site, in line with engineering designs and specifications. You will be responsible for setting out, surveying, and managing the technical aspects of construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of engineering principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively within a construction team to deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake setting out and survey work accurately using appropriate equipment.
• Ensure that construction activities comply with drawings, specifications, and quality standards .
• Supervise and manage direct labor and subcontractors on-site, ensuring work is completed on schedule.
• Check and verify the quality of materials and workmanship.
• Liaise with project managers, site agents, and clients regarding technical issues.
• Maintain site records, including daily reports, measurements, and progress updates.

Requirements

• Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or a related construction discipline.
• Experience as a Site Engineer or in a similar technical role on construction sites.
• Proficiency in using survey equipment and setting out techniques .
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Good understanding of construction methods and health and safety principles.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
