About the Role
Our client is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Site Engineer to support construction projects in the Stoke-on-Trent area. In this role, you will be responsible for setting out, measuring, and controlling the quality of work on site, ensuring that construction aligns with technical designs and specifications. You will work closely with the site manager and construction teams to resolve technical issues and maintain accurate project records. This is an excellent entry-to-mid-level role for an aspiring engineer looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced construction environment, contributing to the successful delivery of key infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out precise setting out and surveying on construction sites, ensuring accurate alignment and levels.
- Monitor and control the quality of construction work, verifying compliance with drawings and specifications.
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications, translating them into practical instructions for site teams.
- Assist in the management of site logistics, including materials, plant, and personnel.
- Record and report on site progress, including quantities of work executed and any deviations from the plan.
- Collaborate with the site team to identify and resolve technical queries and construction challenges.
Requirements
- Degree or HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Practical experience in a Site Engineer role on construction projects.
- Proficiency with surveying equipment (e.g., total station, GPS) and interpretation of technical drawings.
- Good understanding of construction methodologies and materials.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a site team.
