Site Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and technically proficient Site Engineer to join their construction projects in the Bristol area. You will be responsible for ensuring that engineering and construction work is carried out to the required standards, specifications, and programme. This role involves setting out, surveying, and managing engineering elements on site. The successful candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage site operations effectively, contributing to the successful delivery of projects in the South West region of Bristol .

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately set out structures and levels using appropriate surveying equipment and techniques.
• Undertake quality control checks on all works carried out on site.
• Interpret drawings and specifications, ensuring they are correctly implemented by the site team.
• Manage junior engineers and site staff, providing guidance and support.
• Monitor progress of works against the programme and report any deviations.
• Ensure all site engineering activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Requirements

• Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Site Engineer on construction projects.
• Proficiency in using surveying equipment (e.g., Total Station, GPS) and relevant software.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and health and safety practices.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
