Site Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and proactive Site Engineer to join their construction team based in Glasgow . You will be responsible for setting out, managing, and executing engineering and construction activities on-site, ensuring that all works are carried out to the required specifications and quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of construction techniques, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to effectively manage resources and personnel on a daily basis. You will play a crucial part in the successful delivery of construction projects, ensuring accurate execution and compliance with project plans and drawings.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform setting out and survey tasks accurately to guide construction activities.
• Ensure all construction activities are carried out in accordance with design drawings and specifications.
• Monitor and control the quality of work, ensuring it meets the required standards.
• Manage site resources, including plant, materials, and labour, for assigned tasks.
• Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, measurement records, and photographic evidence.
• Liaise with site supervisors, foremen, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.

Requirements

• Degree or HND/HNC in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Site Engineer or similar role on construction sites.
• Proficiency in using surveying equipment (e.g., Total Station, GPS).
• Good understanding of construction methods and sequencing.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
