About the Role
Our client is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Site Engineer to join their construction team in Cambridge . You will be responsible for setting out, managing, and controlling the quality of engineering works on site, ensuring they are executed according to design specifications and drawings. This role requires a strong understanding of surveying, geotechnical engineering , and construction methods. It's an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer to gain hands-on experience and contribute to significant infrastructure and building projects in a world-renowned city.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform accurate setting out and surveying of construction works as per design drawings.
- Ensure that all construction activities are carried out safely and efficiently, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Control and monitor the quality of work executed on site, identifying and rectifying any defects.
- Manage site logistics, including the coordination of plant, materials, and subcontractors.
- Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and method statements .
- Maintain site records, including daily reports, quality checks, and measurements.
Requirements
- Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience as a Site Engineer or Assistant Site Engineer on construction projects.
- Proficiency in using surveying equipment and CAD software .
- Good understanding of construction processes, materials, and health and safety requirements.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
