About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Site Engineer to join their construction team for a significant project in Plymouth . You will be responsible for the technical and engineering aspects of the site, ensuring that all construction activities are carried out accurately and in accordance with engineering plans and specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of surveying, setting out, and quality control, working closely with the site management team to ensure technical integrity and progress. You will be instrumental in translating design into reality on the ground, contributing to the successful execution of the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake accurate setting out and dimensional control for all construction works using surveying equipment.
- Ensure all construction activities comply with project drawings, specifications, and relevant engineering standards.
- Conduct quality control checks on materials and workmanship, reporting any deviations or defects.
- Assist with the interpretation of technical drawings and specifications for site teams.
- Maintain site engineering records, including as-built drawings, survey data, and daily reports.
- Liaise with the site management team to resolve technical queries and ensure smooth project progression in Plymouth .
Requirements
- Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience as a Site Engineer or similar engineering role on construction projects.
- Proficiency in using surveying equipment (e.g., Total Station, GPS) and associated software.
- Good understanding of construction methods and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
