Site Engineering Manager
We are recruiting for an experienced Site Engineering Manager to take overall responsibility for the engineering function at a busy FMCG manufacturing site.
This is a key leadership role, responsible for leading and developing the engineering team, delivering the planned maintenance strategy, improving site reliability and driving a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, manage and develop the site engineering team.
* Deliver the planned preventative maintenance programme and improve engineering KPIs.
* Reduce production downtime through effective maintenance and rapid breakdown response.
* Manage engineering budgets, contractors, projects and site maintenance activity.
* Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality and legal requirements.
* Identify and deliver engineering, automation and continuous improvement projects.
* Work closely with Operations, Health & Safety and Continuous Improvement teams.
* Ensure appropriate engineering spares, tools and facilities are maintained.
* Provide effective engineering leadership during breakdowns and operational emergencies.
About You
You will be an experienced engineering leader with a background in FMCG, food manufacturing or a similar high-volume manufacturing environment.
Ideally, you will have:
* HND/Degree or equivalent Engineering qualification.
* Proven experience managing and developing engineering teams.
* Strong maintenance and project engineering experience.
* Excellent problem-solving and continuous improvement skills.
* Experience managing budgets and contractors.
* Strong commercial awareness and understanding of manufacturing performance.
* Knowledge of TPM, Six Sigma, Kaizen or similar methodologies would be advantageous.
