We're recruiting for a Site Manager to join a highly successful contractor delivering major infrastructure, water, highways, environmental and civil engineering projects across Kent and the South East.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Manager seeking long-term career progression, a strong pipeline of secured work, and the chance to work for a business known for investing in its people and promoting from within.
The Role
As Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the safe, efficient and successful delivery of civil engineering works, managing site teams, subcontractors and direct labour while ensuring projects are delivered on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities include:
* Managing day-to-day site operations.
* Leading direct labour and subcontractor teams.
* Driving high standards of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality compliance.
* Planning and coordinating resources, labour, plant and materials.
* Monitoring progress against programme and implementing corrective actions where required.
* Managing site documentation, permits and reporting requirements.
* Coordinating temporary works and lifting operations.
* Liaising with Project Managers, Engineers, clients and stakeholders.
* Ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project specifications.
What We're Looking For
* Proven experience as a Site Manager within civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
* Strong track record of delivering projects safely and on programme.
* Experience managing both direct labour and subcontractors.
* Excellent organisational, leadership and communication skills.
* Good understanding of construction planning and programming.
* Strong health and safety awareness and commitment.
Essential Qualifications
* SMSTS
* CSCS Card (Management Level or equivalent)
* First Aid at Work
Highly Desirable
* Temporary Works Supervisor or Temporary Works Coordinator
* Experience of reinforced concrete works
* Experience of demolition works
* Experience of utilities and underground services
* Lifting operations experience
* HSG47 awareness
* Highways, water, environmental or major infrastructure project experience
