About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join their technology team in Edinburgh . This hybrid role focuses on ensuring the performance, availability, and scalability of our client's critical systems and infrastructure. You will work at the intersection of development and operations, applying software engineering principles to infrastructure challenges. Your responsibilities will include automating operational tasks, monitoring system health, incident response, and capacity planning. Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
• Develop and implement monitoring, alerting, and logging systems to proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Automate deployment, scaling, and management of applications and services.
• Participate in on-call rotations for incident response and management of production systems.
• Conduct post-incident reviews and implement improvements to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure services are designed for reliability and operability.
• Perform capacity planning and performance tuning to ensure optimal system performance.

Requirements

• Proven experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or a similar infrastructure-focused role.
• Strong programming or scripting skills (e.g., Python, Go, Bash).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in CI/CD tools and practices.
• Deep understanding of operating systems, networking, and distributed systems.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a focus on root cause analysis.
