About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent and experienced Site Supervisor to oversee daily operations on construction sites in the Plymouth, Devon, UK area. You will be responsible for ensuring that work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards. This role involves supervising site teams, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach, strong leadership qualities, and a solid understanding of construction processes. This is a vital role in maintaining site productivity and quality for our client's varied construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct site personnel, including tradespeople and labourers, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently.
- Ensure all site activities comply with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Monitor work quality and progress, identifying and addressing any issues or defects promptly.
- Manage the allocation of tools, materials, and equipment on site.
- Maintain site tidiness and organisation, promoting a safe and productive working environment.
- Liaise with the Site Manager or Project Manager regarding daily progress, resource needs, and potential challenges.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Supervisor , Foreman, or similar role in the construction industry.
- Good understanding of construction methods, materials, and health and safety procedures.
- Ability to lead and motivate a site team effectively.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills for reporting and coordinating with various parties.
- Relevant site safety certifications (e.g., SSSTS) are advantageous.
