Job Description
Paint Sprayer / Paint Technician
Location: GKN Aerospace, Filton, Bristol Duration: 12 Months Ongoing Standard Hours: 35 per week
Shifts & Pay
Training (Core Days): Monday to Thursday, 7:00am to 4:15pm (30-minute unpaid lunch) Rate: £20.17 per hour
7 Day Fort Day Shift (post-training):
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday Week 2: Thursday & Friday Hours: 7:00am to 5:30pm Rotating weekly Rate: £25.21 per hour
Overtime: £30.26 per hour
Key Skills
LEVEL 3 QUALIFICATION IN A PAINT-RELATED DISCIPLINE IS ESSENTIAL, such as an NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship, City & Guilds, BTEC, or equivalent Paint Spraying / Surface Finishing qualification. A recognised paint spraying indentured apprenticeship and ideally have previous manufacturing experience in a factory environment.
Profile
To operate as a multi-skilled, flexible worker to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency. Tasks will be undertaken and worked through the use of:
Spraying Paint touch up and cleaning requiring the use of:
Power tooling Solvents and primer paints are required
Key Deliverables
Ensure parts are produced on a 'right first time' basis Ensure that any calibrated equipment used is within date Responsible for the timely clearance of work phases using the SAP system Responsible for highlighting any non-conformance to the Process Team Leader Adhering to the requirements of the GKNAF Quality Procedures Accountable for Health & Safety requirements under Section 7 of the HASAWA 1974 To hold first party inspection approval (M02 status is subject to obtaining A stamp approval) Responsible for general housekeeping within the area
Key Skills
A recognised paint spraying indentured apprenticeship and ideally have previous manufacturing experience in a factory environment Ability to work to standard operating procedures Must be able to work in small teams with Process Team Leaders Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and techniques to support GKNAF continuous improvement initiatives Self-motivated team player with good communication skills and a positive attitude This is an excellent opportunity to join GKN Aerospace in Filton, Bristol on a long-term contract, working within a world-class aerospace manufacturing environment
