About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary Smart Grid Solutions Architect to design and lead the implementation of innovative smart grid technologies, operating remotely from Bristol . This senior role involves architecting scalable and secure solutions that integrate advanced metering infrastructure, distributed energy resources, grid analytics, and automation systems. You will work closely with engineering, IT, and operational teams to define the technical roadmap for the company's smart grid evolution, ensuring interoperability, reliability, and data security. This is a critical role for shaping the future of energy distribution through intelligent grid technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect end-to-end smart grid solutions , covering areas like AMI, DER integration, demand response, and grid analytics.
• Define technical requirements, standards, and protocols for smart grid systems and components.
• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and platforms to meet business objectives and operational needs.
• Develop roadmaps and strategic plans for the evolution of the smart grid infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, network engineers, and cybersecurity experts, to ensure successful solution implementation.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on emerging smart grid trends and technologies.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Extensive experience (10+ years) in smart grid technologies , energy management systems, or utility automation.
• Proven track record in architecting complex, scalable, and secure technology solutions.
• Deep understanding of communication protocols (e.g., IEC 61850, DNP3), data analytics, and cybersecurity principles in the energy domain.
• Experience with cloud platforms and IoT architectures is highly desirable.
• Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
