Smart Metering Data Administrator
Location: Leeds
Working Pattern: Full-time | 1 day per week on site
Contract: 6 months initially, expected to run until March 2027
Hours: 37 hours per week
Rate: £12.71 per hour

Morson are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a Smart Metering Data Administrator to join their Smart Metering team on an initial 6-month contract.
This is a great opportunity for a detail-focused administrator with strong data skills to play a key role in a major smart metering programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for cleansing and maintaining meter location data, helping ensure records are accurate and contractors have the information they need to deliver efficiently.
The Role
You will be responsible for reviewing and updating smart meter location records across multiple systems. A key part of the role will involve identifying inaccurate or incomplete location information, checking the relevant meter systems and using online mapping tools to verify and update records.
Working as part of the Smart Metering Data Administration team, you will help improve data quality and support the wider programme in meeting its delivery targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out data cleansing activities across smart metering records.
- Review and validate meter location information across multiple systems.
- Use online mapping tools to check and verify meter locations.
- Update and maintain accurate records and databases.
- Identify discrepancies and investigate data issues.
- Work with large volumes of information while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Use Excel to manage, review and update data.
- Work across multiple systems and platforms to ensure information is consistent.
- Handle data in accordance with GDPR and relevant data protection requirements.
- Support the wider Smart Metering team with data administration activities.
- Help ensure accurate information is available to contractors to support efficient delivery.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Previous experience in data cleansing or data administration.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience working across multiple systems.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Comfortable reviewing large amounts of information and identifying discrepancies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Good communication skills.
Desirable
- Previous experience within the smart metering, utilities or energy sector.
- Experience working with billing or meter management systems.
- Understanding of GDPR and handling data securely.
- Experience using Microsoft Teams and Outlook.
