- *About the Role**Telford & Wrekin Council is seeking a dedicated Senior Social Worker to join their Family Safeguarding Team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive service, making a real difference to children and families while managing complex safeguarding cases.As a Senior Social Worker, you will be responsible for managing a varied and complex caseload, undertaking assessments, care planning, and delivering effective interventions to ensure positive outcomes for children and families.**Key Responsibilities*** Manage a diverse and complex caseload within Family Safeguarding.* Complete assessments, care planning, and interventions to support children and families.* Assess and manage risk, making informed, evidence-based decisions.* Contribute to safeguarding processes and court proceedings where required.* Apply relevant legislation, policies, and best practice to deliver child-focused services.* Build and maintain strong relationships with children, families, and multi-agency professionals.* Deliver a range of interventions and review outcomes, adapting plans where necessary.* Maintain accurate records and produce high-quality reports, including court documentation.* Undertake preventative work aimed at reducing risk and strengthening family resilience.* Support multi-agency working and contribute to continuous service improvement.**Requirements*** Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.* Minimum 3 years post-qualified experience working within Children's Services.* Strong experience in safeguarding, assessments, child protection, and care planning.* Ability to manage complex caseloads and make sound professional decisions.* Excellent knowledge of relevant children's social care legislation, policies, and frameworks.* Strong communication, assessment, and relationship-building skills.* Commitment to continuous professional development.*This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975.
