About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker to join their Child Protection team in Aberdeen . You will play a crucial role in safeguarding vulnerable children and young people, undertaking comprehensive assessments, and developing effective intervention plans. This vital position involves working collaboratively with families, external agencies, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for children, fostering a supportive environment for both the children and the families involved. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to social justice and child welfare principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting thorough assessments of children and families' needs, identifying risks and protective factors.
- Developing and implementing robust care plans in collaboration with families and relevant agencies.
- Providing direct support, advice, and advocacy for children and young people.
- Attending case conferences and court proceedings as required, presenting reports and evidence.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with organisational policies.
- Liaising effectively with schools, health services, police, and other community resources.
Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with a relevant degree (e.g., BA in Social Work) and registration with the relevant professional body.
- Proven experience in child protection, safeguarding, and risk assessment.
- Excellent understanding of legislation and policies related to child welfare in Scotland .
- Strong assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to manage a complex caseload and work effectively under pressure.
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for home visits.
