Our client is seeking an experienced and inspiring Software Development Manager to lead a talented team of engineers in Bristol . This pivotal role involves overseeing the entire software development lifecycle, from project planning and execution to team management and technical guidance. Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers, fostering professional growth and a positive work environment.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software development projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
- Collaborate with product management and other stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, and roadmaps.
- Drive the adoption of best practices in software development, including agile methodologies, code reviews, and automated testing.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing challenges that may impact delivery.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and technical strategy, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, and secure.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in software development, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
- Proven experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and project management tools.
- Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle and various development methodologies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Experience working within a hybrid team structure and ability to adapt to changing project needs.
