About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Software Development Manager to lead their growing software engineering team in Plymouth . You will be responsible for guiding the team in the design, development, and delivery of high-quality software products, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration. This leadership role requires a blend of technical expertise, people management skills, and strategic thinking to ensure the successful execution of development projects and alignment with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers, fostering their professional growth and performance.
- Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from planning and design to implementation and deployment.
- Collaborate with product management and other stakeholders to define project roadmaps and priorities.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.
- Drive the adoption of best practices in software development, including coding standards, testing, and CI/CD.
- Resolve technical challenges and remove impediments for the development team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience (6+ years) in software development, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and development methodologies.
- Experience with agile development processes and project management tools.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to effectively manage technical teams and projects in a hybrid environment.
