About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and results-oriented Software Development Manager to lead their engineering teams in Portsmouth . This leadership role is responsible for guiding the development lifecycle, fostering a high-performance culture, and ensuring the successful delivery of innovative software solutions. You will manage a team of talented software engineers, oversee project planning and execution, and collaborate closely with product management and other stakeholders to align technical initiatives with business objectives. Key Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from planning and design to implementation, testing, and deployment.
Drive the adoption of best practices in software engineering, including agile methodologies, code quality, and testing.
Collaborate with product management to define project roadmaps, prioritize features, and manage timelines.
Ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.
Facilitate effective communication within the team and with cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

Proven experience in managing software engineering teams.
Strong understanding of software development principles, methodologies (Agile/Scrum), and technologies.
Demonstrated experience in delivering complex software projects on time and within scope.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to motivate and develop engineering talent.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
