We’re looking for Software Engineer to join our ever-evolving Worldpay Alternative Payments team and help shape the future of global commerce.What you’ll ownWorking with the Development Manager and as part of a BRO (Build Release Operate) team you will be contributing with your own code to the team’s delivery, helping other team members and ensuring the team delivers following sound engineering principles of software craftmanship.You will also strive to advance the department and wider Development community by actively contributing to department initiatives.Your responsibilities will beProduce well structured, maintainable, reliable and fit for purpose code at an accepted level of qualityProduce system requirements and estimates from business requirementsProactively identify and suggest improvements and enhancements to working practices to team levelParticipate in the operation of the services owned by the team by providing out of hours support one out of five weeksDemonstrate a can-do attitude and a sense of responsibility for the wider implications of software engineeringDemonstrate a flexible approach necessary for the role as business requirements and their relative priorities are subject to review and changeWhat you’ll bringProven experience and/or a genuine passion for software development.Degree level education (in related subject of computing, math, science) or equivalent.Knowledge/practical application of agile methodologiesTrack record in delivering work to schedule and to specificationExperience of Software development on Microsoft stack (C#, .NET, Visual Studio), Cloud technologies, cloud tooling and SQLHumble – You never stop learning, no matter how experienced you are.
