Role Description The Software Engineer – Embedded/Automotive at Gegnat Inc. will design, develop, and maintain embedded software solutions for automotive systems in a full‑time, on‑site role based in Bengaluru. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include programming and debugging embedded applications, implementing object‑oriented design, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams such as hardware engineers and quality assurance. The engineer will analyze requirements, participate in code reviews, optimize performance and reliability, and ensure compliance with automotive standards and safety guidelines. The role also involves documenting designs, contributing to technical specifications, and supporting integration and testing activities throughout the development lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software engineering principles.
- Hands‑on experience in Software Development and Programming, preferably in embedded systems and automotive applications.
- Proficiency in Object‑Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and their application to real‑time and embedded environments.
- Exposure to Back‑End Web Development or system‑level services that interface with embedded automotive platforms is a plus.
- Experience with C/C++ (and/or similar languages) for embedded development; familiarity with RTOS and microcontroller platforms.
- Knowledge of automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, FlexRay) and relevant standards (e.g., AUTOSAR, ISO 26262) is advantageous.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Ability to work collaboratively on‑site in Bengaluru, communicate clearly, and follow structured development and testing processes.
